Drain Camera Survey

Drain Camera Survey for Heritage Buildings in Cornwall

At Truscott Building Preservation, we offer professional drain camera surveys to accurately assess drainage issues in Cornwall’s heritage buildings. Many older properties, particularly those with old clay drains, are susceptible to drainage problems that can lead to damp and moisture ingress. A drain camera survey allows us to thoroughly inspect the drainage system without the need for invasive digging, providing clear insights into the condition of your drains and identifying any blockages, cracks, or damage that could be contributing to escape of water or rising damp.

Using state-of-the-art drain cameras, we can visually inspect the inside of your property’s drainage system, identifying issues such as collapsed pipes, leaks, or tree root intrusion. This helps us pinpoint the exact cause of moisture problems in your building, distinguishing between rising damp caused by faulty drainage and other moisture issues. Drain dye testing is also used in conjunction with the survey to trace water flow and confirm whether escape of water from leaking or damaged drains is impacting the building.

Old clay drains are particularly prone to deterioration over time, and damage to these systems can often be overlooked until damp problems become noticeable inside the property. Our drain camera surveys provide a detailed, non-invasive inspection of the entire drainage system, helping us detect problems early before they cause significant damage.
